The HCD+ project awards are for projects that impact people for any one of the United Nations Societal Development Goals (see https://sdgs.un.org/goals). A pure technology project is not eligible, even if it does fit an SDG. In addition, the group must be composed of early career individuals which means that this is among the first three projects attempted by all of the group members. The ages of group members are irrelevant. No age is too young or old. We only care about years of experience in doing HCD+ projects. We do not care what kinds of formal degrees are held by group members or what field they consider themselves to be in. We are judging the project results.

For recognition as an HCD+ Educational group, the training must be focussed upon HCD+ education for societal good, in particular, in order to train people for doing this kind of work, following the principles of HCD+. Groups that provide general education for communities where this is needed should apply to the HCD+ Early Career Project award.

Educational institutions applying for HCD+ Education recognition may be an organized group, a school or university, a bootcamp or other non-tradition training group, formal or informal, that teaches people how to approach societal issues. But projects and educational groups must provide evidence of success (see https://dnda.design/general-guidelines/ for more information).

HCD+ Early Career Project awards are only given to groups. HCD+ Education recognition is only given to the institution that provides the instruction in HCD+ primciples .

There is no fee for submitting an educational program application.
