
Simona Maschi
Simona Maschi is co-founder and Director of the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design (CIID), a globally recognized center for design education and innovation. Her work bridges design education and practice—applying design methods to real-world challenges in mobility, healthcare, housing, food systems, and ageing. With expertise in service design, interaction design, and systems thinking, she collaborates with startups, global companies, and governments. Simona has over 20 years of international teaching experience and has shaped design education in Denmark and beyond. A visiting scholar at IIT Chicago and former associate professor at Interaction Design Institute Ivrea, she continues to work at the intersection of design, innovation, and systemic change. She has served on the jury of the IXDA Interaction Awards, sits on advisory boards across the Americas, Asia, and Europe, and is a member of the ASHOKA Venture Board.
