Shraddha Maanu Foundation (SMF) is a grassroots nonprofit in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, working with marginalized graduate housewives and children to create lasting change in communities through education. Our dual-impact, human-centric model enables educated women to reclaim dignity and meaningful livelihoods through the UPASANA educator-training program, while improving foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) for underserved children through VIPASANA.

Women are trained in pedagogy, teaching methodologies, classroom management, digital literacy and life skills, continually mentored and placed in schools part-time, close to their homes—building trust, ensuring retention and strengthening local ecosystems. Children experience joyful, activity-based learning that extends into families and communities, sparking intergenerational change.

Since 2018, SMF has trained over 500 women and impacted 5,000+ children across 28 districts. SMF is building scalable, community-led transformation by addressing the root causes of exclusion & learning gaps while aligning with SDG 4 (Quality Education for all) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality).
