Sanskruti Shukla is an Indian systems designer and researcher whose work explores how participatory craft can revitalise endangered knowledge systems and enable regenerative futures. Educated at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad with a focus on textile design , she facilitates co-creation workshops where communities learn directly from their environment, treating the landscape as an open design school. Her practice engages with rural and indigenous groups, including communities without a historical craft lineage, to develop practical frameworks that allow them to record, adapt, and share knowledge that might otherwise disappear. Through her projects, she helps communities create not just objects but living archives that link memory, making, market, and resource stewardship to strengthen local economies and difficult ecologies and foster inter-community exchange. Her work has been presented at Desi Oon, Travancore Palace, and Bharat Textiles, and published in the Global InCH Journal of Living Heritage and the Surface Design Association. Recognition by the Don Norman Design Award affirms her commitment to design as a catalyst for regenerative, community-led change. She is currently a resident artist for Goethe Institute and Alliance Francaise Madras in Chennai, India.
