She has occupied several administrative leadership service positions on behalf of her university.

 

She has been Member of the Board of Directors from 2004 to 2008 and from 2013 – 2015. She has been Dean for six years, from 2016 to 2021, of the School of Design at Politecnico di Milano.  Before, in 2005, she established a Master course there (taught in English) in Product-Service-System Design, and from 2005 to 2015 she has been Head of the program. From January 2010 to 2016 she has been Rector’s Delegate for Milan Expo 2015 and for the Major Events of Politecnico di Milano. From January 2017 to 2022 she has been Rector’s Delegate for external relations of Politecnico di Milano. From January 2024 she is Member of the Board of Directors of Fondazione Politecnico.

  

Luisa’s teaching, research, and practice relate to design focus on interiors, services, strategic design, and design-driven innovation. Her curation of exhibitions, scholarship and award-winning work are featured on an ongoing basis in international conferences and publications such as contributions to the Universal Expo 2015 in Milan, for the 150th anniversary of Politecnico di Milano and the Triennale Design Museum, Bilbao Guggenheim Museum and others.

 

From 2013 to 2019 she has been elected President of Cumulus, the International Association of Universities and Colleges of Art, Design and Media, after serving two consecutive terms in the Cumulus Executive Board. Since 2016 she has been Member of the Board of Directors of De Longhi spa, company owner of the brands De Longhi, Braun, Kenwood and Ariete, listed on the Italian Stock Exchange. Since July 2021 she has been nominated National expert for Horizon Europe Cluster 2 – Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society, appointed by the Italian Ministry for University and Research.
