In this inaugural year, the DNDA24 Humanity-Centered Design (HCD+) Summit will provide a forum for individual practitioners, groups, and organizations involved in HCD+ projects and education for societal good to share ideas and learnings. DNDA Award winners for outstanding projects and educational programs will be recognized for their contributions to benefit society.

ORGANIZATIONS

The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), was established in 1967 with an intention to integrate professional management and technical skills with genuine participation by local communities to explore innovative approaches to development challenges across Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

Code for Pakistan is a civic nonprofit dedicated to bridging the gap between citizens and government through the strategic use of technology. By mobilizing the power of communities and applying human-centered design principles, Code for Pakistan tackles critical societal challenges and improves public services. The organization encourages citizen involvement in co-creating solutions, ensuring that the tools and services developed are both relevant and effective for the communities they serve. By partnering with governments and local stakeholders, Code for Pakistan drives innovative approaches to strengthen civic engagement, boost transparency, and promote participatory democracy. As an executive member of the global Code for All network, Code for Pakistan is committed to driving positive social impact and catalyzing lasting change across Pakistan.

Commit Global’s mission is to take care of the world’s infrastructure for good: Civic, humanitarian, climate. The phrase “infrastructure for good” represents open source digital solutions that are built and integrated strategically into ecosystems that tackle critical global issues to aid NGOs all over the world grow their effectiveness and response capacity.

Isolated efforts cannot solve global problems, hence the need to develop a global Infrastructure.Commit Global has provided essential aid to over 1 million refugees, including safe housing, vital resources, and health services for the chronically ill.It does this through open source digital solutions that enhance NGO effectiveness and response capacity, amplifying the impact of civil society organizations and improving services for beneficiaries.Commit Global also addresses maintenance costs and global consolidation challenges, ensuring longevity and reach.

FHI 360 is a global nonprofit working to improve health, education, development, and human rights in over 60 countries to create a world where everyone has the opportunity for a full, healthy life, advancing equity and well-being through data-driven, locally led solutions.

OCAD University is Canada’s “university of imagination.” The University, founded in 1876, is dedicated to art and design education, practice and research and to knowledge and invention across a wide range of disciplines, building on its traditional, studio-based strengths, adding new approaches to learning that champion cross-disciplinary practice, collaboration and the integration of emerging technologies.

The Design Village is an interdisciplinary, industry-centric design institute, based in Noida, New Delhi, India. At TDV, all fields of design come together for essential interdisciplinary interactions.

The Universidad Anáhuac México (Anahuac University) is a private higher education institution with two campuses, the North Campus is in Huixquilucan de Degollado and the South Campus is in Mexico City. It sponsored the international conference “Design for Humanity,” October 8 - 10, 2024.
