Yrjö Sotamaa is currently Chairman of Board of the high-profile Finnish Design Studio Ateljé Sotamaa (sotamaa.net), Professor Emeritus of Aalto University, Finland and Member of the Court of Royal College of Art. Sotamaa is an internationally awarded expert of design and has been involved as Professor and expert with design education, design research and design strategy in Austria, China, Denmark, England, Korea, USA and the EU. His main research interests are related to the social and cultural impacts of design. These interests have their roots in close collaboration with Professor Victor Papanek and Professor Buckminster Fuller in the 1960´s and 1970 ́s. Sotamaa is founder and former president of Cumulus Association. He is former longtime President of the University of Art and Design Helsinki.
