ABOUT INSTRUCTORS AND STUDENTS

We embody the New American University model, fostering an inclusive environment where success is measured by whom we include and how we support our students. Our mission emphasizes advancing research with public value and enhancing the economic, social, and cultural health of the communities we serve.

Our admissions process values diversity and universal access, assessing candidates not only on academic records, portfolios, and personal statements but also on their creative and analytical abilities. We actively recruit a diverse student body, reflecting various backgrounds and experiences, and are proud to be a Hispanic-serving institution that values diverse perspectives.

Our Graduate Admissions Committee, comprising full-time faculty, reviews applications biweekly to gauge students' potential. Our faculty includes a diverse mix of tenured professors, clinical professors, and industry experts with advanced degrees (PhD, MFA, MID) and extensive experience in sustainable design, design strategy, and user experience. This interdisciplinary faculty team also includes experts from fields like business, sustainability, and biomimicry, ensuring students gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills, with a strong emphasis on life-centered and human-centered design, sustainability, and innovation, aligning education with industry needs.
