Centro 32

We spotlight the two projects that brought our attention to the parent organization: Centro 32.

  • Psychomobile: Mobile Mental Health Clinic for Migrants and Refugees in Tijuana, México.
  • Baby Bus: Mobile Educational Project for Migrant and Refugee Early Childhood in Tijuana, México.

Psychomobile

The "Psychomobile" is the first mobile mental health clinic in Mexico's northern border, offering access free psychological care to migrant people. Additionally, it conducts psychoeducational and art therapy activities at shelters, focusing on women, children, adolescents, and the LGBTQ+ population.

Baby Bus

"Baby Bus" provides recreational activities and talks on child development to babies and toddlers and their parents in migrant shelters. It provides early childhood educational services in a school-type bus that is adapted for mothers and their babies to strengthen positive emotional attachment and child development through play, exploration, and creativity. The Baby Bus is a safe, adequate, and dignified space that is run by a team of humanitarian workers.

Psychomobile

Lourdes Medrano (director of Center 32: she has acquired technical and methodological tools that are fundamental to guide the programs of Center 32.

Gricelda Flores , Coordinator of the Psicomóvil project: psychologist, mental health coordinator at Centro 32.

Estefanía Coronado , Art-therapy project coordinator: psychologist and teacher in social projects, her experience in both fields is of great value for the development of programs and workshops that involve the artistic dimension and mental health.

Centro 32 Mental Health Network : is made up of highly trained volunteers, all psychology graduates, who serve the population both in person and remotely.

Baby Bus

Martha Valenzuela (Coordinator of the "Baby Bus" Project): Psychologist, her extensive experience has helped her coordinate the operation of the project effectively.

Liliana Ontiveros (Educational Assistant): Psychopedagogue responsible for designing and implementing sessions.

Eva Aispuro (Educational Assistant): Social worker responsible for convening, receiving, enrolling, and interviewing migrant families joining the program.

Emely Arroyo (Educational Assistant): Communication specialist trained in early childhood approach models and intercultural mediation.

Volunteers (Assistants): Other migrant moms living in shelters perform this role.

Alejandro Ayala (Driver): Driver with experience and a license to operate large vehicles.
